Fresh Start Community Farm
Fresh Start Community Farm is a 1/2 acre decentralized urban farm in downtown Newport. Our gardens are lawns, reclaimed lots, and other underutilized spaces scattered around the city; our gardeners are the next generation of farmers and an intergenerational cadre of neighbors. Brickhouse artists help farm this space and collaborate on creative placemaking projects that dissolve the barrier between farm and vibrant public space. In the coming seasons, we expect the farm to provide an economic foundation for a viable Farmartivist lifestyle.
